Position: Registration Specialist

Department: Workforce Development & Continuing Education

Type of Position: Full-time Hourly

Exemption Status: Non-Exempt

Work Schedule, Hours per week: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM, 40 hours per week

Opportunity for hybrid schedule: No

Starting Salary Range: $16.31-$20.77, determined based on relevant years of work experience provided on application and resume.

Position Summary

Johnson County Community College (JCCC) inspires learning to transform lives and strengthen communities. The Registration Specialist supports this mission by providing customer-focused registration and student support services for Workforce Development and Continuing Education programs. This role serves as the primary point of contact for registration inquiries, assists students with enrollment-related processes, and maintains accurate and secure student records in compliance with JCCC policies.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma and 3+ years of related experience.

Position Details

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Student Services & Customer Support
    :
    Advise students and provide customer service for Workforce Development and Continuing Education. Serve as the primary point of contact for registration-related inquiries. Support students with course registration, withdrawals, transfers, and canceled courses. Manage and respond to emails and live chat questions. Maintain detailed knowledge of courses, certificates, funding sources, discounts, and promotions.
  • Registration, Records & Data Accuracy
    :
    Ensure JCCC policies are followed for student registration and records management. Enter and maintain accurate student and registration data. Run daily reports to verify accuracy and completeness of student records. Ensure student information is secure and handled appropriately.
  • Financial Processing & Revenue Management
    :
    Process student payments accurately. Enter and reconcile revenue to ensure daily financial balance. Support financial compliance related to registration transactions.
  • Process Improvement & Systems Expertise
    :
    Perform ongoing process improvement and recommend workflow efficiencies. Learn and utilize features of newly upgraded registration software. Assist in adapting procedures to system updates and institutional changes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
