Position SummaryThe Photograph & Media Technician I position supports JCCC’s mission by providing routine technical and laboratory support under supervision and in compliance with established procedures in the Photography, Film, and Media Studies Department studios and equipment check‑in/out room. This role also provides support for the Fine Arts Gallery in the Fine Arts and Design Studios building.
Required Qualifications- High School Diploma.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50 pounds.
- Associate’s of Fine Arts degree or coursework in Fine Arts, Photography, Film/Media, or related field.
- Technical Support & Customer Assistance
- Provide basic technical assistance to students, faculty, and staff in analog, digital, and computer studios.
- Respond to routine questions and issues related to studio equipment and facilities.
- Studio & Laboratory Operations
- Assist with setup, operation, and cleanup of studios, laboratories, and instructional spaces.
- Support day‑to‑day studio and lab activities to ensure readiness for instructional use.
- Track consumable supplies and materials and report low inventory levels to supervisory staff.
- Assist with organization and storage of equipment and supplies.
- Equipment Handling & Maintenance
- Support checkout and check‑in of equipment in accordance with established procedures.
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and basic care of equipment including cameras, printers, enlargers, lighting, and sound gear.
- Safety & Exhibition Support
- Follow established safety procedures and report hazards, unsafe conditions, or equipment issues.
- Assist with installation and deinstallation of gallery exhibitions.
- Other duties as assigned (to be updated at any time at the discretion of management).
