Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, 25 hours per week

Starting Salary Range: $26.98-$35.10

Position Summary

Supported Education Programs Instructors teach non-credit specialized instruction seminars for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in the CLEAR and CONNECT programs. Responsible for course content development and adaptation to meet diverse learning needs. Responsible for classroom instruction and evaluating student progress including testing, grading and maintaining an interactive Canvas course. Hold weekly office hours and collaborate with peer mentors to support student success.

All courses take place face‑to‑face on the JCCC campus.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in special education, education or closely related field.
  • Minimum one year of experience teaching or supporting individuals with IDD in educational or vocational settings.
  • Knowledge of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), self‑determination theory, positive behavior supports and a commitment to person‑centered practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and classroom management skills are required.
  • Ability to use basic computer applications and technology required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching in a post‑secondary or adult education setting.
  • Familiarity with transition services and inclusive higher education models.
