May 27 – August 12; majority of hours last two weeks of July and first week of August - No benefits
Under the supervision of a licensed professional, this position provides support to the instructional process by assisting in the instruction, rehearsals, and/or performances of instrumental music students during summer band practice. Tasks may include:
- Preparing students as soloists or ensemble members for performances
- Supervising sectional rehearsals and ensembles
- Preparing groups for participation in school performances, festivals, clinics, parades, etc.
- Applying knowledge of instrumental music techniques, marching band fundamentals, performance practices, and musicianship development in a classroom
- Using musical notation, working effectively with all students, and maintaining confidentiality
