Special Education Teacher in Overland Park, KS

Make a meaningful impact in elementary education by guiding and supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher in an engaging, inclusive environment. This contract opportunity spans the full academic year, beginning August 3, 2026, and concludes May 25, 2027. You'll be working closely with a manageable caseload of eight students in Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grades, with daily hours from 8:15 am to 4:00 pm.

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Previous experience in elementary special education settings preferred
• Knowledge of individualized education plan (IEP) development and data-driven instruction
• Ability to adapt lesson plans to meet diverse student needs
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and colleagues

• Design and deliver high-quality individualized instruction within the LIFT program for assigned grade levels
• Create a supportive classroom environment that celebrates student strengths and fosters growth
• Develop, implement, and manage IEPs, ensuring legal compliance and personalized support for each student in your caseload
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to ensure cohesive educational experiences
• Track student progress and adjust strategies as needed to maximize academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
• Communicate regularly and transparently with parents and guardians
