Special Education Teacher | Overland Park, Kansas

Seeking passionate and dedicated Special Education Teachers to support elementary students for the upcoming school year. This contract position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students in grades K, 1, 2, 3, and 5, working in a supportive educational environment.

This role will focus on the LIFT program and provides manageable caseloads, allowing you to deliver individualized attention and instruction. Each teacher will be responsible for a group of 8 students, ensuring you have the time and resources to foster growth and success for every child.

Your schedule will follow the school calendar, starting at the beginning of August and finishing at the end of May, with daily hours from 8:15 am to 4:00 pm.

Qualifications &

Experience:

• Current special education teaching certification for elementary grades.
• Experience working with diverse learners and adapting curriculum to meet individual needs.
• Skills in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Strong collaboration abilities, working with general education staff and related service providers.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction and support tailored to the needs of students in the LIFT program.
• Maintain records and documentation for each student, including progress monitoring.
• Communicate regularly with families to celebrate student triumphs and address challenges.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and inclusive learning experience.
• Foster a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment.
