Role Description

The Infant Teacher is responsible for providing attentive, developmentally appropriate care and education to infants in a Montessori-inspired classroom. This full-time, on-site role in Overland Park, KS includes planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that support sensory exploration, language development, and social-emotional growth. Day-to-day duties involve creating a safe, clean, and nurturing environment, observing and documenting developmental milestones, and adapting learning experiences to each child's needs.

The Infant Teacher will communicate regularly with families, collaborate with colleagues, and follow school policies and licensing regulations. The role also includes maintaining classroom materials, supporting smooth transitions throughout the day, and modeling positive, respectful interactions with children and adults.

Qualifications
  • Strong background in Early Childhood Development and Child Development, particularly with infants and toddlers.
  • Demonstrated Teaching experience in early childhood settings, with skill in guiding individualized and small-group learning.
  • Ability to contribute to Curriculum Development aligned with Montessori principles and age-appropriate learning goals.
  • Effective Communication skills with children, families, and colleagues, including clear documentation and family updates.
  • Preferred but not required:
    Montessori training or coursework, CDA or equivalent early childhood credential, or relevant associate/bachelor's degree. (We will also help train for this.)
  • Ability to meet state childcare licensing requirements, including background checks and health/CPR certifications.
  • Patience, empathy, reliability, and a commitment to inclusive, respectful, and developmentally appropriate practice.
