You will support learners to achieve their qualifications through high-quality training, assessment and workplace-based learning. You'll manage your own caseload, deliver engaging workshops and learning sessions, assess learner competence, provide constructive feedback and monitor progress to ensure timely achievement.

You'll build strong relationships with learners and employers, providing guidance and support throughout the learner journey and ensuring learning is relevant to workplace practice.

The role requires you to demonstrate Respect, Openness & Honesty, Innovation & Creativity, Motivation & Empowerment and Clarity in everything you do. You'll be expected to take a learner-centred approach, motivate learners to achieve their potential and bring creativity and innovation to your delivery.

What you’ll do:
  • Delivering engaging training, assessments, workshops and centre-based activities, including Essential Skills and enrichment activities.
  • Managing your own caseload and using ACT systems to accurately record and monitor learner progress and achievement.
  • Planning and delivering effective learning, teaching and assessment using a range of approaches, including digital learning.
  • Developing and reviewing Individual Learning Plans, initial assessments, inductions and learner reviews to ensure a meaningful and effective learner journey.
  • Assessing coursework, assignments, projects and workplace evidence in line with awarding organisation requirements.
  • Building positive and collaborative relationships with learners, employers and colleagues, keeping employers actively involved throughout the learner journey.
  • Monitoring learner wellbeing, health and safety, and following safeguarding procedures to ensure learners are supported and safe.
  • Developing and maintaining high-quality course resources, including distance learning materials, and contributing to curriculum development and continuous improvement.
  • Evaluating your delivery, using feedback, evidence and research to continually improve your practice.
  • Contributing to quality processes, including observations, audits and learner feedback, and sharing best practice with colleagues.

The role is field based and will require the Assessor to deliver across routes, however, the trainer will be directly line managed by the Route Manager.

ACT is committed to promoting the Welsh language for both staff and learners, and whilst it is not considered essential criteria, the ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role.
