Lab Specialist

The Lab Specialist owns the development and delivery of The Leadership Apprenticeship, by The Lab, our Registered Apprenticeship pathway to a national certification. This person builds curriculum, facilitates cohorts, and supports apprentices with job-embedded coaching from enrollment through completion.

• Develop and refine apprenticeship curriculum aligned to the competencies embedded in the national certification pathway.
• Facilitate cohort sessions, coaching cycles, and job-embedded learning experiences for apprentices.
• Track apprentice progress against Registered Apprenticeship requirements and maintain accurate completion records.
• Partner on scope and sequence for each cohort, incorporating feedback from prior cohorts.
• Coordinate mentor and preceptor relationships for apprentices completing fieldwork.
• Lead onboarding for incoming apprentices.
• Monitor outcomes across our four measurement domains: baseline knowledge, engagement, application, and impact.
• Maintain the compliance documentation required to sustain Registered Apprenticeship status.

• Experience in special education leadership, teacher preparation, or adult learning design.
• Familiarity with competency-based professional learning models.
• Strong facilitation skills with adult learners, including experience leading cohort-based programs.
• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in special education, educational leadership, or a related field preferred.
• Prior experience as a special education director, coach, or administrator preferred.
