Overview
Job Title: Civil Engineer (Generation).

Responsibilities- Develop site layout, grading, storm water management, vehicular circulation, underground utilities, retaining walls, erosion control, and wastewater management design.
- Earthwork and erosion control calculations to avoid environmental impact and cost.
- Exposure and experience in a wide range of power plant technologies including biomass, municipal waste, geothermal, hydrogen, fossil fuel, carbon capture, battery energy storage, hydro, and solar.
- Surveying, geotechnical, structural, mechanical, electrical, and discipline coordination.
- Hydrology and hydraulic calculations and studies to design stormwater management systems including detention and infiltration to prevent environmental impacts of flooding.
- Interface with state and local permitting agencies and construction entities for US and international projects.
- Coordinate regularly with the Project Engineer/Manager to ensure project scope, budget, and quality expectations are met.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
- BSCE (Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering) degree from an ABET-accredited university.
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification or capability to achieve within two years.
- 3+ years of relevant post-education experience in engineering discipline and prior civil design experience.
- Experience in site design for utilities, industrial facilities, municipal infrastructure, storm drainage and stormwater management design, site grading, roadway and utility design, sanitary sewer design and analysis, construction specification development and development of construction bid packages.
- Capable interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
- Knowledge of civil construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
- Effective self-leadership with attention to detail, results orientation, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instruction, work independently, and comply with company policies.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
- Experience with Autodesk Civil3D, Micro Station.
- Experience using the Microsoft Office software suite.
- Professional Engineer License
- Experience working in consulting firms

Compensation:
Expected Salary (all locations): $75,600 - $129,800. WSP USA reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range.
