Product & Process Support Quality Engineer

Position Summary

The Product & Process Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting product quality, manufacturing process control, and industrialization activities throughout the product lifecycle. This role works cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to ensure products and production processes meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting new product introduction (NPI), process validation, manufacturing readiness, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives within a regulated manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product & Process Quality
  • Support product and manufacturing process quality activities throughout the product lifecycle
  • Review and maintain technical documentation including work instructions, specifications, control plans, and acceptance criteria
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards such as AS9100, ISO 9001, or other applicable industry requirements
  • Participate in product verification, validation, and qualification activities
  • Risk Management & Quality Tools
  • Lead or support PFMEA/FMEA activities to identify and mitigate manufacturing and process risks
  • Support corrective and preventive action activities (CAPA)
  • Participate in PPAP preparation, capability studies, SPC analysis, and root cause investigations
  • Utilize quality methodologies such as 8D, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement tools
  • Process Control & Industrialization
  • Develop and maintain control plans, inspection methods, and process verification activities
  • Support manufacturing process development and transition from prototype to production
  • Conduct manufacturing readiness and process feasibility evaluations
  • Assist with new product introduction (NPI) and production line support activities
  • Equipment Validation & Manufacturing Support
  • Support equipment commissioning, validation, qualification, and acceptance activities
  • Help define equipment validation protocols and acceptance criteria
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing and equipment-related quality issues using root cause analysis methods
  • Partner with Manufacturing and Engineering teams to improve process capability and production efficiency
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, Suppliers, Quality, and Operations teams
  • Support communication and coordination during product launches and manufacturing transfers
  • Assist suppliers and internal teams with quality-related investigations and process improvements
  • Drive initiatives focused on improving product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and process stability
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and data-driven improvement projects
  • Contribute to improvements in quality systems, manufacturing processes, and digital tools such as ERP, MES, and QMS platforms

Education

Bachelor’s degree in one of the following disciplines preferred -

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • Manufacturing Engineering
  • Related technical field

Experience

  • 3–7 years of experience in manufacturing quality, process quality, industrialization, or quality engineering
  • Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI), manufacturing readiness, or process validation activities
  • Hands-on experience with quality tools such as:
  • PFMEA/FMEA
  • Control Plans
  • PPAP
  • SPC
  • Root Cause Analysis / 8D
  • Lean Manufacturing methodologies
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, medical device, electronics, or other regulated manufacturing industries
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems
  • Experience with SAP, ERP, MES, PLM, or QMS systems
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or related certifications preferred
  • Auditor certifications or APQP/PPAP training a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience interpreting technical drawings and engineering documentation
  • Additional Information
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Manufacturing environment with regular interaction on the production floor
