Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will have the opportunity to bring mechanical systems to life in a variety of industrial facilities. Your experience grows quickly to support the various demands of the buildings HVAC and piping systems. Proper selection and design ensure optimal environmental conditioning for the operation of the processing facility systems. Using your broad focus, you will provide solutions to complex problems facing manufacturing and related customers.
The Mechanical Team is engaged in:
- Design, Preconstruction Planning, and Construction support
- Working with equipment partners to leverage the best technical solutions to the problems at hand
- Project Delivery Methods – Design-Bid-Build and Owner’s Engineer, depending on need.
- Facility Types – Industrial facilities such as food and beverage manufacturing, agricultural processing, semiconductor manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, automotive manufacturing and other leading edge industries.
- Systems – HVAC, Plumbing, and Chillers
- Energy Audit/Efficiency – Engineering studies, system performance reviews, and energy compliance calculations.
- Code Review/Application – Facility review for code compliance
Project Execution:
- Mechanical Quality Plans – concept development, defining the requirements area by area, and solutioning.
- Equipment Sizing and Selection – using utility summary, facility layouts, and OEM resources.
Basic knowledge of the following areas:
- General understanding of building and utility systems is preferred, interest in growing knowledge base and skillsets is required.
- Ability to perform basic HVAC heat load calculations, energy modeling and HVAC equipment sizing.
- Aware of the technical submittal review process.
- Aware of bid review process.
- Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bluebeam Revu or other markup tool, Revit or CAD experience a plus.
- International Codes Council (ICC) Suite of Codes.
- ASHRAE, ASME, NFPA Handbooks / Standards.
- Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.
- Minimum of 1 year related work experience.
- All applicants must be able to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
- Holds or in the process of obtaining Engineer‑In‑Training (EIT) certification.
This position requires working in a typical office environment. The role may entail prolonged periods of sitting and computer use, and the professional should be able to maintain focus and attention to detail throughout the workday. The position may also require physical tasks during site visits, including crouching, grasping, and standing/walking for extended periods of time.
Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.
