In this role, you will have the opportunity to...
- Work collaboratively with various design engineering execution teams across the US and abroad
- Under general supervision, perform all aspects of mechanical system design engineering and analysis for assigned systems of responsibility
- Acquire knowledge of both Black & Veatch and industry standards and implement them in project development
- Prepare moderately complex engineering deliverables, conduct research, and develop project design recommendations
The Mechanical Engineering Department is a global team that delivers high quality, on time design and services projects in the areas of Power, Gas, Fuels & Chemicals, Water and Waste Water, Data Centers, and Mining including everything mechanically related to Process and Power (from Conventional, Combined Heat and Power, Hydro, Hydrogen, Nuclear, Solar/Renewable, LNG, Ammonia, Fertilizer) projects to specialized Air Quality Control, HVAC, Fire Protection, Piping, Thermal and Renewable performance estimating and testing.

Key Responsibilities- Proactively provide guidance and direction on department design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and B&V policies. May own, maintain, update, or develop engineering standards and guides. Provide technical guidance to others regarding projects or disciplines.
- Apply knowledge and ensure compliance with B&V quality program. Establish related processes, and promote a culture that is conducive to quality. Support continuous improvement, change management, and risk management efforts.
- Prepare a variety of complex engineering deliverables for multiple or mega projects. Perform complex research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection. Oversee collection, assimilation, and management of data for engineering work.
- Prepare complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles. Manage assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements. Develop and apply advanced engineering solutions to complex problems. Ensure project teams delegate appropriate tasks to lower level team members to develop depth of project execution staff.
