POSITION SUMMARY:

The Industrial Engineer plays a critical role within the Revenue  organization at Smart Warehousing, serving as the analytical engine behind labor  planning, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement across our warehouse  network. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining labor models, analyzing  equipment and space utilization, building labor assumptions for new customer  onboarding, and driving measurable efficiency gains. The Industrial Engineer partners  cross-functionally with Operations, Facilities, Customer Success, and Solutions teams to deliver  data-driven insights that improve service levels and reduce costs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop, maintain, and refine labor models to accurately forecast warehouse  staffing requirements across multiple facilities.
Analyze labor productivity metrics (units per hour, cost per unit, etc.) to identify  trends, variances, and improvement opportunities.
Build labor assumptions for new customer implementations, partnering with the  Solutions team to ensure accurate pricing and scoping.
Conduct time and motion studies to establish and validate engineered labor  standards.
Evaluate equipment utilization across facilities and recommend strategies to  maximize throughput and reduce downtime.
Analyze warehouse space utilization and layout efficiency, providing  recommendations for slotting optimization and capacity planning.
Identify and quantify process bottlenecks, then develop and implement solutions  to improve flow and reduce waste.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar  methodologies to drive operational excellence.
Develop dashboards and reporting tools that provide visibility into key efficiency  metrics for leadership review.
Partner with the Solutions team to develop customer-facing labor and cost  models during the sales process.
Collaborate with Operations leadership to translate analytical findings into  actionable warehouse improvements.
Support Customer Success in identifying efficiency opportunities that enhance  service delivery and customer satisfaction.

“THE PERSON” | MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS   Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations  Research, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in industrial engineering, warehouse operations analysis, or a  comparable role within logistics, distribution, or 3PL.
Demonstrated expertise in labor modeling, time studies, and productivity analysis.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or  similar).
Solid understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and operational  workflows.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to communicate complex data findings clearly to both technical and non-technical  audiences.

PHYSICAL OR MENTAL DEMANDS:  While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to see, hear, talk,  write, read, stand, walk, bend over, and be alert at all times. The employee is frequently  required to use hands to type, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. While infrequent,  employee may need to visit warehouse locations in which employee may need to lift, push, and  pull up to 20 pounds.

The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, drive  (vehicle), stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl.
