Position: Commissioning Tech 3

Substation Commissioning Technician

Location:

377 Madison County Parkway, Canton, MS 39046.

Compensation
  • Per diem: $130/day and $500 mobilization/demobilization.
  • Or:
    No per diem/mobilization—expenses are submitted for reimbursement and the worker is paid for travel time and flights to the project.
Responsibilities
  • Perform field installation and calibration of equipment and instruments within the scope of the technical discipline.
  • Prepare timely documentation for equipment and subsystem completion.
  • Lead the discipline technicians, providing functional direction and supervision.
  • Setup equipment, perform calibration, confirm device set points per design, and conduct device loop checks to the Distributed Control System (DCS) as per subsystem start‑up package.
  • Load programs into subsystem programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and perform required functional testing of equipment and systems.
  • Verify equipment installation per design and walk down subsystems for erection completion.
  • Identify broken or failed devices for replacement within the completion schedule.
  • Prepare equipment and subsystem turnover documentation.
  • Support plant operation during startup and initial operations.
  • Adhere to safety and quality standards applicable to duties and accountabilities.
  • Act in the capacity of a “lead person,” directing discipline commissioning technicians without management authority over staff.
