Mechanical Engineer – Industrial Buildings and Utility Systems

Key Responsibilities- Design, preconstruction planning, construction and startup of mechanical systems in industrial facilities.
- Work with equipment partners to select best technical solutions.
- Use design‑bid‑build and owner’s engineer delivery methods as appropriate.
- Apply knowledge to facility types such as food & beverage manufacturing, semiconductor manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, automotive manufacturing, etc.
- Manage HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, boilers, chillers, compressed gases systems.
- Energy audit/efficiency – engineering studies, system performance reviews, and energy compliance calculations.
- Code review/application – facility review for code compliance.
- Sustainable design/LEED – application of sustainable strategies.
- Develop mechanical quality plans, define requirements area by area, solutioning.
- Equipment sizing and selection using utility summaries, facility layouts, and OEM resources.
- Mechanical system layouts.
- Contractor selection and coordination.
- Experience across a range of building and utility systems; interest in growing knowledge and skillsets.
- Computer‑generated HVAC heat loads, energy modeling and HVAC equipment sizing.
- Technical submittal reviewing process.
- Bid reviewing process.
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
- Bluebeam Revu or other markup tool;
Revit or CAD experience a plus. - Knowledge of International Code Council (ICC) suite of codes.
- ASHRAE, ASME, NFPA handbooks / standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program.
- Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
- Ability to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records).
- Typical office environment with prolonged sitting and computer use.
- Physical tasks during site visits, including crouching, grasping, standing/walking for extended periods.
- Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after 90 days of employment based on manager discretion.
