Structural Senior Engineering Technician – Nuclear Power

Responsibilities
  • Functions as a senior engineering technician, technical design specialist, and/or supervisor.
  • Applies advanced technical expertise to solve complex design challenges within a specific engineering discipline.
  • Contributes to the development of innovative engineering solutions.
  • Uses digital tools and design software (CAD, BIM, 3D modeling) to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables.
  • Provides consultation, training, and oversight to other engineering technicians to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance with project standards.
  • Establishes and communicates appropriate design and graphic standards.
  • Reviews project requirements to determine correct formats and deliverable content.
  • Promotes quality and consistency across projects, groups, and sections.
  • Reviews design inputs to ensure alignment and consistency.
  • Ensures deliverables comply with applicable codes and standards.
  • Might contribute to continuous improvement of design guides, standards, and processes.
  • Might participate and lead process improvement and change management activities.
  • Manages drawing control and maintains historical project records.
  • Applies engineering principles and established design practices to complex designs.
  • Exercises sound judgment in interpreting inputs and making deliverable-related decisions.
  • Manages complex technical assignments and provides guidance to other professionals.
  • Performs design calculations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, and documentation.
  • Might review deliverables produced by others for quality and accuracy.
  • Might coordinate presentations, production design, and use of electronic design tools.
  • Might monitor production to ensure consistency, budget, and schedule.
  • Might program control systems or support plant start‑up activities within area of expertise.
  • Coordinates with other design groups to exchange information for design development.
  • Might support field activities as required.
  • Communicates project design requirements, progress, and schedules.
  • Assists with identification of key client interests and drivers and may determine the key clients in some instances. Communicates client interests and drivers to project team members and develops approaches to accommodate these concerns.
  • Identifies and supports training and development needs for supervised personnel.
  • Recognized for expertise in one or more areas; may be assigned special assignments depending on technical expertise.
  • Makes presentations and conducts training classes within a specialized area of expertise.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology (required).
  • Bachelor Degree in an Engineering Design Related Technology (preferred).
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 11 years related work experience.
  • Must complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements including background checks, drug screening, and motor vehicle records.
  • Must satisfy citizenship requirements outlined in 10 CFR 810.
Work Environment / Physical Demands
