The Virtual Design & Data Solutions (VDDS) Associate Engineering Technician performs technical tasks under general supervision, using intermediate knowledge of engineering principles and practices to create or modify deliverables. The role focuses on developing plan & profile deliverables using Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley Micro Station, supporting underground transmission line projects within the Distributed Infrastructure (Grid) solution. Basic Civil 3D experience is required, including alignments, plan/profile, and sections.

• Supports engineering teams under general supervision.
• Performs technical tasks requiring intermediate knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
• Uses digital tools and design software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modeling).
• Creates, updates, and maintains technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables.
• Provides technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering technicians.
• Stays current on applicable standards, systems, document control practices, departmental guides, and BV policies and procedures.
• Applies knowledge of the BV Quality Program to ensure accurate, compliant deliverables.
• Demonstrates strong attention to detail while supporting continuous improvement and change management initiatives.
• Uses and expands applications and tools to evaluate and improve methods, processes, and procedures.
• Creates and develops project deliverables based on a variety of design inputs.
• Performs basic computations, including material quantity estimates and dimensional checks.
• Coordinates deliverables with other project groups to minimize errors and interferences.
• Supports internal client needs while understanding external client priorities and drivers.
• Proactively seeks, shares, and applies knowledge of new technologies and evolving processes.

• Diploma or Certificate.
• Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design‑Related Technology.

• Typically a minimum of 2 years of related work experience.
• All applicants must be able to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search).

Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based on manager discretion, job performance, and work assignments.
