Our client is a growing firm in the telecommunications industry and has an immediate need for a Traffic Control Drafter. The Traffic Control Plan Drafter (TCP) will create Traffic Control Plans and Maps in support of fiber network builds for City, County and State Highways.
This role requires knowledge of city, county, state and local municipalities encroachment permits, Traffic Control, and specialty permits (e.g., UPRR, Caltrans, Forest Service, BLM), easement, right of way, and various environmental permits. Candidates must understand easements and ROWs, and have basic knowledge of traffic engineering principles related to temporary traffic control. The position involves designing lane and road closures on city streets and freeways and working with governing jurisdiction offices to locate ROW lines if needed.

Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize the latest version of AutoCAD to prepare Traffic Control Plans using all available resources and adhering to jurisdiction requirements. (Plans will consist of both Typical and Custom)
- Provide exemplary project communication and adhere to project/jurisdiction requirements.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding design, placement, and details of the system.
- Establish a robust quality control/assurance process.
- Coordinate with drafting designers to design temporary traffic control setups.
- Draft all field‑engineering notes to base map or survey map that are pertinent to design.
- 2+ years of Traffic Control Plan Drafting experience for telecom or utility work.
- 2+ years of experience with AutoCAD.
- Experience utilizing Rapid Plan.
- Experience with ArcGIS or QGIS.
