The Opportunity

Lead and design treatment for raw water supply, mine contact water, process wastewater, and mine effluent systems across active and legacy mining operations.

  • Provide technical leadership in the planning, design, and delivery of water treatment, reuse, and management systems across the mining lifecycle—from feasibility and permitting through detailed design, construction, operations support, and closure.
  • Develop and present technical evaluations and recommendations to clients and key stakeholders.
  • Supervise junior engineers in performing design work.
  • Perform all aspects of conventional process design engineering analysis; build and maintain relationships with clients; participate in writing proposals.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead process engineering design of water and wastewater treatment and delivery systems.
  • Evaluate, select and integrate treatment technologies including biological treatment systems, membrane systems, and solids handling.
  • Prepare moderately complex process engineering deliverables: PFDs, water balances, MSDs, P&IDs, equipment datasheets and specifications.
  • Perform complex research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or material selection.
  • Manage assigned budget, schedule and quality requirements.
  • Plan and conduct independent evaluation, selection and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Review junior engineering work or assignments.
  • Oversee collection, assimilation, and management of data for engineering work; lead smaller production teams; serve as project lead if applicable.
  • Collaborate with hydrology, hydrogeology and civil teams on integrated water resource solutions across mine life cycles.
  • Act as a technical specialist providing consultation and guidance to project teams.
  • Coordinate with the industrial water team on thought leadership and presentations at critical conferences.
  • Assist in identifying key client interests and drivers; support feasibility studies and closure strategies.
  • Provide support to business development or pursuit activities including pre-positioning meetings, proposal development, client interviews, and identification of winning sales messages.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards.
  • Strong understanding of mine water quality challenges, including metals, salinity, sulfate, and variable flow conditions.
  • Experience with Gold Sim modeling.
  • Effective oral and written communications skills.
  • Strong project execution, client services, and business development capabilities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of 11 years related work experience.
  • Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements including background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle records search.
Certifications
