The OpportunityThe successful candidate will manage technical due diligence engagements for a range of assets—including conventional generation, oil & gas, transmission, water, and renewable energy projects—on behalf of lenders and investors. This role leads a multi‑disciplinary team of engineers, consultants and financial analysts, gathering and analysing data, producing technical assessment reports, conducting site visits, maintaining client contacts, and managing overall project execution.
Managers typically oversee several concurrent projects and report to the transaction solution team within Black & Veatch Infrastructure Advisory.

Key Responsibilities- Demonstrate solid knowledge of conventional generation, oil & gas, transmission, water, and renewable energy technologies, including battery energy storage.
- Leverage experience with plant engineering and design, inspections, outage assessment, portfolio budgeting, equipment condition assessment, capital project assessments, reliability/availability assessments, field observations, performance assessments, and financial analysis and modelling.
- Establish relationships with client team members and management.
- Produce moderately complex work products and reports.
- Build knowledge bases using best practices to refine tools and techniques.
- Outline performance measures, targets, and goals to articulate business cases for efficiencies or added value.
- Implement project‑management capabilities, managing client expectations, task delegation, and risk.
- Maintain high‑quality project execution, including deliverable quality control, scope assessment, feasibility, and issue resolution, and contribute to quality reviews.
- Anticipate challenges and minimise issues by leveraging team expertise.
- Enhance existing tools and processes for project delivery.
- Analyze, develop, present, and defend conclusions, recommendations, and implementation plans; translate analyses into written reports and client presentations.
- Transfer knowledge and skills to improve others’ competencies.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- At least 7 years of experience in a business or consulting environment.
- Visible willingness and ability to complete background checks and other onboarding requirements.
- At least 7 years of experience in engineering, business, or consulting within the energy and utility sector, with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Electric/power
- Natural gas
- Water
- Renewable energy technologies
- Conventional generation
- Transmission
- Independent or lender engineering
- Plant experience (engineering design, inspections, outage assessments, budgeting, equipment assessments, capital projects, reliability/availability, field observations, performance assessments)
- Financial analysis and modelling
- Engineering or technical degree, or relevant MBA/financial degrees.
- General knowledge of transaction engagements and due‑diligence lifecycle.
