Senior Engineering Technician to support multidisciplinary project teams delivering critical infrastructure solutions within the Advanced Power Generation (APG) portfolio. This role plays a key part in civil site development, including grading, drainage, erosion control, roadways, underground utilities, and related infrastructure.
The position requires advanced expertise in engineering design tools, leadership in design execution, and the ability to guide teams in producing high-quality technical deliverables for complex projects.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support design teams in developing high-quality engineering deliverables
- Apply advanced technical expertise to solve complex civil design challenges
- Develop, modify, and maintain site development plans using industry-standard tools
- Establish and enforce design and graphic standards across projects
- Review project requirements and ensure deliverables meet scope, quality, and compliance standards
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to support integrated design development
- Perform design calculations, quantity takeoffs, estimates, and technical documentation
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements
- Oversee drawing control and maintain accurate project records
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to junior technicians
- Review and validate design inputs and outputs for accuracy and consistency
- Support process improvements, design standards, and change management initiatives
- Monitor production schedules and budgets to ensure project alignment
- Communicate project progress, design requirements, and timelines to stakeholders
- Support field activities and project execution when required
- Strong experience with:
- Autodesk Civil 3D
- Bentley Micro Station
- Bentley Open Plant Modeler
- Proficiency in CAD, BIM, and 3D modeling tools
- Advanced knowledge of civil engineering design principles and practices
- Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills
- Required: Associate Degree in Drafting, Engineering Design Technology, or related field
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Design Technology or related discipline
- Minimum 11+ years of relevant experience in civil design and engineering support
