Job Title:
Staff Engineering Technician - Virtual Design & Data Solutions (VDDS)
This role supports the Power Providers Market Sector, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on Nuclear projects. The Staff Engineering Technician creates and modifies high‑quality electrical design drawings using Bentley Micro Station and other Bentley tools, with emphasis on duct bank, cable tray, grounding, lighting, and related systems.
Key Responsibilities- Operate in a project engineering technician capacity and support engineering and design teams.
- Develop and modify technical deliverables under general direction.
- Apply foundational engineering principles and established design practices to create moderately complex design concepts.
- Use digital tools such as CAD, BIM, and 3‑D modeling to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation.
- Provide technical guidance to ensure quality and consistency across outputs.
- Apply knowledge of standards, codes, and BV policies and procedures.
- Review project requirements and determine appropriate format and contents of deliverables.
- Apply BV Quality Program to deliverables, demonstrating accuracy and supporting continuous improvement.
- Ensure design inputs and deliverables comply with applicable codes and standards.
- Make judgment on deliverables and input interpretation and apply basic engineering principles.
- Handle difficult technical assignments and provide guidance to other professionals.
- Perform design calculations, material quantity estimates and record keeping.
- Review the deliverables of others.
- Define work assignments and maintain schedules.
- Program control systems or participate in plant start‑up activities as needed.
- Coordinate with other design group personnel to exchange project information.
- Support field activities and focus on internal client needs.
- Seek and share knowledge of latest technologies and processes.
- Diploma or Certificate required.
- Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
- Minimum five years of related work experience.
- Must complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements, including background checks and drug screening.
- Must satisfy citizenship requirements outlined in 10 CFR 810 for the global nuclear program.
- Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after 90 days based on manager discretion.
- State of Colorado: $74,360 - $124,190
- State of Minnesota: $70,980 - $118,545
- Hourly range applicable: $35.75 - $59.71
