Engineer (Rail Water Resources)
As a Project Engineer on the Rail Water Resources team, you will provide various engineering and project management duties. You will assist with gathering survey data, hydrologic/hydraulic analysis and modelling, prepare technical reports, and review CAD drawings. You will assist with obtaining local, state, and federal permits for water resources related projects that impact regulated floodplains and various drainage districts. Travel is required to job sites for field reconnaissance in all types of terrain and weather conditions.
Primary responsibilities include handling complex engineering tasks, preparing project documents, independently developing new techniques, collaborating with project managers, assisting with scopes and schedules, supervising and providing technical guidance to less experienced staff, maintaining project and client information, and traveling and working in all types of terrain and weather conditions at project sites in various stages of construction.

You bring to the team a professional engineering license (PE), a bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering, 4 years or more of water resources engineering experience, experience with floodplain management, proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, master planning, stream restoration, experience with AutoCAD, Micro Station, GIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS or other related hydrologic and hydraulic software, strong communication skills, ability to contribute and work well with a team, excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, and ability to represent Olsson in a professional manner at all times.
Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, geographic location, skills, education, and internal equity. Colorado pay range is $83,000 - $120,000 USD.
