Function as a technical specialist in a lead architectural role. Independently develop and apply advanced architectural techniques, concepts and approaches to unique architectural problems. Contribute to execution planning and project scope development, including level of effort and project deliverable definition. Serve as a technical Subject Matter Expert specialist, providing knowledge and expertise for Manufacturing projects. Facilitate development of internal standards, procedures and details.

Our primary areas of focus are:
Architecture/Engineering (A/E) Services, Defense Program, Design/Build, Classified, and Environmental. This position will be based out of a Black & Veatch office location for Federal Employees:
Kansas City, Arlington (VA), Denver, or Atlanta.

Responsible for assisting with identification of key client requirements and drivers on moderately complex projects. Communicates client requirements and drivers to project team members and develops approaches to accommodate these concerns in the performance of the work on moderately complex projects. Lead larger production teams; coordinating multiple discipline activity; and serving as the responsible charge for a project Prepares a variety of complex architectural deliverables for larger or multiple projects Actively coordinate with all other internal/external team members on moderately complex projects Performs complex research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection Oversees collection, assimilation, and management of data for architectural work Prepares architectural calculations following standard methods and principles Manages assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements Independently apply advanced techniques and analysis problems and methods Equally comfortable receiving feedback and guidance, as well as providing guidance and direction to more junior architectural staff Provides guidance and direction on department design guides, standards, systems, applicable codes and Black and Veatch policies Assists in developing, maintaining and updating architectural standards Provides technical guidance to others regarding projects and disciplines Independently applies knowledge and complies with Black and Veatch quality program relative to assigned tasks Provides related guidance and direction to others Supports continuous improvement and change management efforts Performs complex research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection May provide support to business development or pursuit activities Serves as a technical specialist and has knowledge and skill set to provide consultation and guidance to project teams in a particular practice area Typically supports multiple projects on the complex technical challenges Develops and applies advanced concepts and approaches to unique architectural problems Administrative responsibilities may include office administration, career planning, and learning and development.

Ensures policies, procedures, and processes are effectively implemented and communicated for workgroup Ensures adherence to corporate and division programs May approve timesheets and expense reports

Preferred Qualifications Proficient in Revit Licensed as a registered architect Experience with Commercial/Industrial projects with diverse requirements especially focused on manufacturing facilities, such as Food & Bev, Pharma, Semiconductor, or Consumer Goods Advanced knowledge of architectural design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to assigned architectural discipline Intermediate knowledge of other facility disciplines, with extensive experience in coordination Proven track record of working with clients to understand unique constraints and developing creative solutions Advanced ability to interpret architectural deliverable content as assigned Intermediate industry knowledge and technology trends Intermediate knowledge of construction and constructability practices and principles Intermediate knowledge of procurement and contract administration Working knowledge of process and procedures for project controls and estimating Intermediate knowledge of technical aspects of the proposal process Intermediate knowledge of management techniques and administrative practices

Minimum Qualifications Requires a bachelor's degree in architecture from an NAAB or a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.…
