GAI Consultants is seeking an Associate Substation CAD Operator to support Substation projects. This position requires working with engineering and other technical subject matter experts in all aspects of electrical substation and protections & controls design services. The successful candidate will perform CAD work of red-lined engineering markups for various substations and/or protection and control engineering projects as well as project support working under engineering supervision.

- Opening, revising, plotting, and saving of drawing CAD files.
- Assist in compiling, collating, assembling, and verifying completeness of drawing and project document packages.
- Knowledge of plot profiles and user profiles in CAD package.
- Assist CAD technicians and CAD operators in the development of their skills as required.
- Ability to learn multiple software platforms including, but not limited to, AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical.
- Attend project-specific meetings as required.
- Must be able to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously and be able to work effectively under the pressure of deadlines and unexpected developments.
- Ability to work extended hours or after hours when required.
- Learning and helping to find ways to improve GAI Engineering CAD Standards.
- Effective communication with the project team
- Follows Project and Task Manager to assemble drawings
- 0 Years of Experience
- Associate Degree from an accredited Technical School
- Basic 2-D line work and text edits. Plot and create PDF drawings. Perform red-line edits.
Follows basic QA/QC procedures. Assist with general office function such as printing and folding drawings
- Responsible for personal task management and adherence to deadlines and scope
- No Management responsibilities
- Close supervision on work assignments
- Possess basic oral and written communication skills. interacts effectively with other staff. Learns to master and accurately follow instructions from others
