State And Local Tax Manager

Overland Park, KS (Onsite)

We are partnering with a large, privately held, multi-entity organization seeking an experienced State & Local Tax Manager to lead multi-state tax compliance, strategy, audit support, and process improvement initiatives.

• Manage multi-state franchise, excise, property, and other state/local tax filings
• Conduct SALT research and provide guidance on complex tax matters
• Lead state and local tax audits, notices, and inquiries
• Perform nexus studies and assess filing requirements
• Identify tax savings opportunities and available incentives
• Improve tax processes, controls, and reporting workflows
• Partner with Finance, Legal, Operations, and leadership teams on tax-related matters

• Corporate in-house tax experience within a multi-state, multi-entity organization
• Experience managing audits and researching complex tax issues
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with tax software
• Big 4 background is a plus
• Exposure to indirect taxes and incentives programs is a plus
