As a Compliance Assistant you are responsible for providing compliance support as well as monitoring and documenting compliance activities. Successful candidates will exhibit strong ethical judgment and manage the information flow by researching, recording, and analyzing data and information.
Responsibilities- Assist in the adherence of the bank’s operations, policies, and procedures to Federal and State laws and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) and manage the HMDA software.
- Work with the Compliance Officer to monitor and document compliance activities.
- Track documentation related to new account opening.
- Review OFAC and other software daily alerts.
- Assist in conducting surprise audits.
- Assist the Internal Auditor with reconciliation of the bank’s official check accounts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and research skills with high attention to detail.
- Knowledge of banking regulations and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and under minimal supervision.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in business or a complimentary field (preferred), or a combination of education and relevant bank compliance experience.
- Tech‑savvy, quick learner, proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience with Fiserv and Quest software is a plus.

Your work schedule will be 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Physical DemandsThis largely sedentary role requires remaining in a stationary position 75 % of the time, with occasional filing and use of office equipment. The employee must use hand and finger dexterity and visual acuity to operate equipment, read information, and use a keyboard. The role may require communicating with customers/clients, moving about inside the office to access file cabinets and supplies, and moving items up to 10 pounds.

Ability to maintain regular attendance, be punctual, and complete assigned tasks without direct supervision. Ability to work and sustain attention with distractions and interruptions, multitask without loss of efficiency or accuracy, perform under stress, interact appropriately with a variety of individuals including customers/clients, meet speed and deadlines, and work as an integral part of the team.
Work EnvironmentTypical bank lobby/office environment. The employee continually views a computer monitor and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
