The Consumer Lending Specialist I role is primarily responsible for owning the Onboarding Lending Experience for our Members. Responsibilities include the delivery of a seamless, Member-focused lending experience by handling inbound consumer loan requests via phone and online channels. This role plays a key part in verifying applications, clarifying Members’ needs and providing them with a detailed overview of the lending process.

Responsibilities include adhering to lending policies and procedures, assisting Members with loan-related needs, and providing support or problem-solving through digital channels. This role also focuses on meeting and exceeding sales and loan goals while championing Mazuma’s culture and core values.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with Credit Union Members by delivering personalized service and financial guidance.
• Address Member inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and loyalty.
• Uphold professional phone and written communication etiquette in all interactions.
• Conduct thorough assessments of Members' financial situations to identify their needs and recommend appropriate Credit Union products and services.
• Actively promote Mazuma Credit Union’s loan offerings to enhance Members’ financial well-being.
• Originate loan applications submitted by phone.
• Thoroughly verify applicant information and clarify lending requests. Documenting applications with relevant notes needed for decision.
• Manage daily workflow and prioritize tasks to meet service level expectations. With the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
