Position: Per Diem Pharmacist Overland Park, Kansas, United States

Overland Park, KS. Work location may change based on business needs.

Schedule

Part‑time, 24–35 hours per week during business hours (Monday–Friday, 8:30 am–5 pm CST).

Job Description

In the absence of the pharmacist in charge, the relief staff/per‑diem pharmacist is responsible for the quality of patient services and safe, effective pharmacy operation.

Qualification Requirements
  • Graduate with a BS or Doctorate of Pharmacy from an ACPE‑accredited School of Pharmacy
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in the state noted in posting
  • Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, meeting quality standards and evaluating customer satisfaction
  • Basic level skill in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Qualifications Preferred
  • Minimum of 1–2 years in a retail or hospital pharmacy
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Directly monitor pharmacy technicians to assure quality of patient services and safe, effective operation
  • Provide safe, appropriate, cost‑effective, evidence‑based medication therapies to patients per Bio Matrix policies, FDA mandates, and manufacturer restrictions
  • Complete prescription order review and verification, ensuring drug matches order and selecting appropriate patient educational materials
  • Conduct initial and disease‑specific phone assessments with new patients and refill assessments with existing patients
  • Maintain knowledge of Ohio State Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations (and other states), URAC, The Joint Commission, and ACHC Pharmacy Standards

  • Prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently
  • Scheduling flexibility; willingness to work overtime and on‑call coverage

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements
  • Work independently and handle stress appropriately
  • Manage a diverse workforce and collaborate with pharmacy staff
  • Handle frequent interruptions and adapt to workload and schedule changes
  • Set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond quickly to emergency requests
  • Communicate effectively (verbal and written)
  • Assist in meeting pharmaceutical care needs of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
Communication Skills
  • Oral:
    Speak clearly and persuasively, listen and clarify, respond well to questions, demonstrate group presentation skills, participate in meetings
  • Written:
    Write clearly and informatively, edit work for spelling and grammar, vary writing style to meet needs, present numerical data effectively, read and interpret written information
Computer Skills
  • Become and remain proficient in all programs necessary for execution
Pay Range/Rate

$60 – $70 USD
