Job Overview:

The Hotel Operations Manager at Embassy Suites by Hilton Kansas City Overland Park is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hotel, ensuring efficiency, guest satisfaction, and profitability. This role involves managing multiple departments, including housekeeping, front office, food & beverage, and maintenance, to ensure that all guest services run smoothly and in line with the hotel’s standards. The ideal candidate has a strong leadership background in hospitality, with a focus on operational excellence, guest relations, and staff development.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Oversight:

Manage the day-to-day operations of all hotel departments, including front desk, housekeeping, food & beverage, and maintenance.
Ensure that all departments are operating efficiently and in accordance with hotel policies and procedures.
Collaborate with department heads to ensure that all areas of the hotel meet or exceed guest expectations.
Conduct regular walk-throughs of the property to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, maintenance, and guest service.

Guest Satisfaction:

Monitor guest feedback and reviews, addressing complaints and resolving any issues promptly.
Work with department heads to implement service improvements based on guest feedback.
Ensure that all guest requests and special needs are addressed in a timely and efficient manner.
Maintain high standards of hospitality by fostering a guest-centric culture among all staff.

Financial Management:

Assist the General Manager in the development and management of operational budgets, ensuring cost control and financial performance.
Monitor department performance and profitability, identifying areas for cost reduction and revenue enhancement.
Review financial reports, including occupancy rates, labor costs, and revenue metrics, to guide operational decisions.
Work with the sales and marketing team to implement strategies that increase room occupancy and F&B revenue.

Team Leadership & Development:

Lead, train, and support department heads in delivering excellent guest service and maintaining operational efficiency.
Conduct regular meetings with department heads to ensure alignment of goals and strategies across departments.
Oversee recruitment, training, and staff development, ensuring all employees have the tools and knowledge they need to succeed.
Implement staff performance evaluations and provide feedback to encourage growth and improvement.

Compliance & Safety:

Ensure all operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety laws.
Maintain a focus on guest and employee safety by enforcing proper safety protocols and conducting regular safety inspections.
Ensure all employees adhere to hotel policies regarding privacy, security, and data protection.
Oversee risk management processes to minimize incidents and liabilities.

Property Maintenance & Management:

Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure that the property is well-maintained and that all equipment is in good working order.
Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance to manage room turnover and ensure that all guest areas are clean and presentable.
Manage ongoing projects, renovations, and repairs, ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget.

Marketing & Revenue Management:

Work closely with the marketing team to promote hotel services and special offers.
Analyze occupancy trends and collaborate with revenue management to implement pricing strategies that maximize profitability.
Participate in sales and marketing initiatives to drive room sales and promote hotel amenities such as dining, spa, and events.
