We’re looking for a Developer Relations Engineer to become a technical authority on Smart Suite’s APIs and integration capabilities.
In this role, you’ll work directly with developers, technical customers, and partners to design, build, and troubleshoot custom integrations with Smart Suite, effectively bridging the gap between the Smart Suite application and traditional software engineering. You’ll provide hands-on guidance across authentication, endpoint usage, payload design, and data flows—helping developers build reliable, scalable integrations that support real business workflows.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role. You’ll have meaningful ownership and collaborate closely with engineers and product leaders to improve API usability, developer tooling, and the overall developer experience.
How You’ll Spend Your Time- Become the technical authority on Smart Suite s APIs, data model, authentication (including SSO/SCIM), and webhook behavior.
- Guide and troubleshoot complex integrations, custom solutions, and enterprise features like SSO, SCIM, and data extraction for developers and technical customers.
- Create and maintain high-quality, developer-facing assets, including API documentation, integration guides, and examples.
- Influence the platform’s developer experience by partnering with Engineering and Product to surface feedback and drive improvements to tooling and APIs.
- 5+ years of experience working with APIs, integrations, or developer-facing platforms in production environments (we value impact, judgment, and outcomes over exact years)
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON data models, authentication patterns, and webhook-driven systems
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues by analyzing requests, payloads, logs, and error responses
- Experience with cloud platforms (preferably AWS)
- Experience providing technical guidance to developers, partners, or technical customers through documentation, examples, and direct collaboration
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, and customer-facing teams to drive outcomes
- A mindset oriented toward raising the bar—improving clarity, reliability, and usability of APIs and developer-facing resources over time
- Shape how developers extend and integrate with Smart Suite
- Act as a technical voice for developers in collaboration with Product and Engineering
- Own developer-facing documentation and integration guidance
- Work on a flexible platform supporting complex, real-world business processes
- Contribute to high-quality software focused on reliability and scalability
