Argus Companies is seeking an IT Operations Manager to join our headquarters team in Overland Park, Kansas. This role is ideal for a technology professional who enjoys operating at the intersection of hands‑on IT support, operational leadership, and vendor coordination in a growing organization.
This position oversees the day‑to‑day delivery of technology services across the company and serves as the primary in‑house IT resource. The role acts as a key liaison between Argus’ internal teams and external partners, including our Managed Services Provider (MSP) and Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP).
The IT Operations Manager combines technical troubleshooting, operational coordination, vendor oversight, infrastructure management, and small project leadership to ensure systems, devices, and services are provisioned and maintained effectively. This role also supports continuous improvement by helping standardize processes, optimize service delivery, and contribute to infrastructure strategy within a growing IT environment.
What You’ll Do IT Service Delivery & End‑User Support- Serve as an extension of the MSP service desk as the primary onsite resource for end‑user IT support, including hardware, software, connectivity, and troubleshooting.
- Develop, maintain, and deliver training content for IT workflows and new user onboarding.
- Assist with administration of MSP‑provided tools including MDM platforms, ticketing systems, RMM tools, SaaS applications, and collaboration platforms.
- Ensure performance, availability, and recoverability of data, infrastructure, systems, and services.
- Oversee software deployments, device provisioning (laptops, phones, peripherals), user onboarding/offboarding, and IT asset lifecycle management.
- Facilitate software evaluations and support business teams with technology solutions while advising leadership on impacts and outcomes.
- Oversee daily IT operations including the help desk, network infrastructure, and supporting services.
- Coordinate with and negotiate with vendors and service providers to deliver technology services aligned with organizational needs.
- Manage operational IT KPIs and incident trends to identify service improvement opportunities.
- Support technology initiatives and projects, including system upgrades, rollouts, security improvements, and operational process enhancements.
- Support cybersecurity hygiene practices, including access management, patching, and adherence to internal IT policies.
- Manage the company’s security awareness program, including training and phishing simulations.
- Partner with the Director of Technology to maintain documentation for systems, procedures, and support workflows.
- Assist with standardizing IT practices across the organization and with third‑party vendors.
- Assist the Director of Technology with IT budget forecasting, cost control, and technology planning.
- Associate’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- 5+ years of experience in an IT support or operations‑focused role.
- Experience managing relationships between internal IT teams and external service providers, including MSP or MSSP environments.
- Experience leading or contributing to technology deployments, upgrades, or operational improvements.
- Proficiency administering Windows and Microsoft 365 environments, including Active Directory and Entra.
- Experience with MDM solutions and device provisioning workflows.
- Familiarity with software deployment and patch management practices.
- Experience with help desk tools and ticketing systems.
- Understanding of basic networking concepts including LAN/WAN, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and connectivity troubleshooting.
- Experience creating and maintaining IT documentation, policies, and procedures.
- Based in our Overland Park, Kansas headquarters
