Interns within Cerris are provided with a wide variety of professional & networking opportunities in addition to their daily work. Our interns have the chance to participate in volunteer activities, shadow, & participate in other dynamic programming events.

The L&D Intern will support the Learning & Development department with general coordination, communication, systems support, and administrative activities that help Cerris deliver organized, high-quality learning experiences. This role is well-suited for a college student pursuing a degree in communications, marketing, leadership, business administration, education, or a related field.

  • Learning Program Coordination
  • Assist with planning and onsite coordination for learning programs, workshops, and department-led events.
  • Prepare classroom resources.
  • Support follow-up after learning sessions, including attendance tracking, survey collection, and participant communications.
  • Partner with facilitators and subject matter experts by helping coordinate availability, gather materials.
  • Communications Support
  • Draft, prepare, and send participant communications.
  • Support internal L&D communications, including monthly newsletters, program announcements, and SharePoint site updates.

Assist with monitoring and organizing L&D communications through tools like Outlook and Asana.

Assist with writing, formatting, proofreading, and organizing materials to ensure clear, professional, and consistent messaging.

  • Learning Management System and Technology Support
  • Assist with basic LMS tasks.
  • Support updates to learning technologies.
  • Partner with L&D team members to moderate virtual instructor-led training sessions.
  • Help organize and enhance learning resources.
  • Support quality assurance efforts for learning content and materials.
  • Data, Reporting, and Feedback Support
  • Help track and summarize survey feedback and identify common themes, trends, or opportunities to improve the learner’s experience.
  • Assist with preparing basic reports, dashboards, compliance tracking, or monthly learning updates as requested.
  • Support process improvement by documenting common procedures, creating simple job aids, and identifying ways to reduce repeat administrative work.
  • Content and Resource Support
  • Assist with creating learning resources, post-training follow-up communications, and program support materials.
  • Organize and update L&D files, templates, and shared resources.
  • General Department Support
  • Provide general administrative and coordination support to the L&D team.
  • Offer ideas to improve L&D processes, communications, tools, and the overall learner experience.
  • Support special projects and other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands
Physical demands for this position are light. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be walking, standing, bending or carrying of light items (10-25 pounds) such as papers, books, small parts, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
