Senior / Principal Observability Architect
We are seeking an experienced Observability Architect / Principal Architect with strong hands-on expertise in enterprise observability, Victoria Metrics, Kubernetes/Open Shift, security, networking, Git Ops, and telecommunications environments. The ideal candidate will have deep production experience designing, implementing, operating, and governing large-scale, high-throughput platforms. The role requires a combination of hands-on technical expertise, architecture leadership, security knowledge, operational experience, and executive-level communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and operate enterprise-scale observability platforms.
- Own architecture decisions from design through production delivery.
- Develop High-Level Designs (HLD), Low-Level Designs (LLD), Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), sequence diagrams, and interface contracts.
- Design and operate Victoria Metrics clusters supporting sustained, high-cardinality workloads.
- Establish observability standards across multiple teams, platforms, and technology vendors.
- Design SLI/SLO frameworks, error-budget alerting, dashboards, logging, and distributed tracing.
- Lead Zero Trust security architecture and enterprise identity integration.
- Design and operate Kubernetes/Open Shift platforms supporting stateful and high-throughput workloads.
- Implement Git Ops-based delivery using ArgoCD or FluxCD.
- Develop Kustomize-based multi-environment and multi-cluster deployment strategies.
- Design Kubernetes networking, Network Policy, MetalLB, BGP, OVN-Kubernetes, DNS, and cross-cluster connectivity.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, project management, security, and operations teams.
- Translate technical architecture decisions into programme risks, timelines, trade-offs, and business outcomes.
- Provide technical leadership across complex enterprise transformation programmes.
- Present architecture decisions and recommendations to senior engineering and executive stakeholders.
