Overview
This role is ideal for an experienced claims professional who thrives in complexity, ownership, and fast-paced decision-making. You’ll manage high-exposure property and liability claims from start to finish, partner closely with legal counsel and experts, and play a hands-on role in resolving challenging matters efficiently and fairly. Up to $125,000
Responsibilities- Manage unrepresented, represented, and litigated property and personal liability claims from initial intake through resolution
- Handle first-party property claims as needed
- Establish timely contact with all involved parties and conduct thorough investigations to determine coverage and legal liability
- Draft clear, well-supported coverage determinations, including Reservation of Rights letters
- Evaluate, negotiate, and resolve claims within assigned authority levels
- Maintain detailed, audit-ready claim files with strong documentation, diary management, and adherence to fair claims practices
- Deliver a high-touch service experience through proactive communication and expectation setting
- Direct and collaborate with defense counsel, independent adjusters, and subject matter experts
- Request and review appraisals, estimates, cause and origin reports, and other investigative materials
- Review estimates and reports and issue payments in accordance with policy terms
- Support workload surges and catastrophe response efforts, including potential on-call, evening, or weekend coverage
- Contribute to projects and cross-functional initiatives as needed
- Minimum of 3 years of experience adjusting complex liability and casualty claims
- Strong background handling catastrophic bodily injury, third-party liability, and litigated general liability claims
- Demonstrated ability to navigate litigation and negotiate effectively
- Experience with homeowners, condo, and/or landlord claims preferred
- Deep knowledge of claims practices, coverage analysis, liability investigations, estimating, and claims operations
- Exposure to subrogation, fraud investigation, SIU, or property damage estimating is a plus
- Prior leadership or mentoring experience preferred; AIC and/or ARM designation a plus
- Highly self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable managing a heavy, fast-moving workload
- Willingness to take a hands-on, flexible approach in a non-traditional, results-driven environment
