Position Type: Full‑time, Hourly
Exemption Status: Non‑Exempt
Schedule: Tuesday‑Saturday, 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM (40 hrs/week)
Hybrid Option: None
Salary Range: $15.34 – $18.61 (based on experience)
Conduct custodial duties and perform daily cleaning tasks, contributing to a clean environment for students, staff, faculty, and visitors at Johnson County Community College (JCCC).
Required Qualifications- High School Diploma
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitizing duties
- Duties may include dusting, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming
- Ensure equipment is cleaned, stored, and replenished following use
- Notify appropriate personnel of needed repairs or additions to building operating systems
- Notify supervisor of the need to order cleaning supplies and equipment
- Remove and dispose of debris or trash
- May perform basic maintenance and repair duties, including outside grounds work as required
- Perform various cleaning duties across the campus: sweeping, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning, and sanitizing to keep buildings, classrooms, offices, and common areas well‑maintained.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms and restock supplies as needed.
- Empty trash and recycling receptacles and dispose of waste according to established procedures.
- Wipe down and sanitize windows, desks, and other surface areas.
- Assist with setup and breakdown of campus events and meetings; set up and take down tables and chairs and clean event areas afterward.
- Assist with office moves and rearranging furniture.
- Follow safety protocols and ensure proper care when using equipment, chemicals, and supplies.
- Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Shovel and remove snow and ice from doorways and entrances to enhance campus accessibility.
- Report equipment or area repair needs to appropriate personnel.
- Replenish products and supplies in assigned areas; notify supervisor of needs to order supplies and equipment.
- Display a courteous attitude to enhance the welcoming atmosphere at JCCC.
