Temporary Environmental Services (EVS) Helper

Pay Rate - $19/hr.

This temporary Environmental Services (EVS) Helper role supports the cleanliness and sanitation of hospital facilities. You help ensure that patient care areas, public spaces, and support areas remain clean, safe, and hygienic for patients, visitors, and staff.

• Maintain hospital facilities in a clean and sanitary condition, following established procedures and standards.
• Perform general cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and wiping surfaces in patient rooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.
• Handle basic housekeeping duties including trash removal, replenishing supplies, and organizing work areas.
• Support environmental services and sanitation activities to help control infection and promote a safe environment.
• Use appropriate cleaning products and equipment safely and effectively according to guidelines.
• Respond to assigned cleaning requests and complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
• Follow all safety, health, and sanitation protocols required in a hospital setting.
• Be willing to perform any job task as required to support the environmental services team.

• At least 6 months of cleaning experience preferred in environments such as housekeeping, sanitation, EVS, or general labor.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting as needed for cleaning duties.
• Willingness to perform any assigned job task and adapt to changing cleaning priorities.
• Reliability and punctuality for scheduled day or evening shifts.
• Basic understanding of cleaning practices and sanitation standards.
• Ability to follow instructions and adhere to hospital policies and procedures.

• Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is an advantage.
• Experience in environmental services, housekeeping, or general labor roles is beneficial.
• Attention to detail when cleaning and organizing work areas.
• Strong work ethic and commitment to maintaining a safe and hygienic environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

You will contribute directly to a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors, and staff in a professional hospital setting. This role offers consistent weekday hours with either day or evening shifts, providing predictable scheduling and valuable experience in environmental services and healthcare support.

The role is based in a clean hospital environment focused on maintaining high standards of hygiene and sanitation. You will work indoors in patient care areas, hallways, restrooms, and other hospital spaces. Available schedules include a day shift from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and an evening shift from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. You will use standard cleaning equipment and supplies while following hospital safety and sanitation protocols.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
