The Opportunity
As an intern on the Employee Communications team, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting a dynamic group of strategists, storytellers, and content creators dedicated to informing, inspiring, and engaging employee-owners. In this role, you'll work across all team work streams-supporting writing, editing, content distribution, design, digital publishing, analytics, and planning-while contributing to meaningful internal communication initiatives that shape the employee-owner experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Draft, edit, and proofread employee communications including articles, announcements, scripts, talking points, and campaign materials
* Support content publishing and updates on SharePoint and other internal channels
* Use digital communication platforms-including Divvy, Workshop, and Copilot AI tools-to support efficient content creation and optimization
* Perform administrative duties such as meeting coordination, document management, and tracking action items
* Assist with design and formatting of visual content (graphics, infographics, slides, templates)
* Help manage communication workflows, including scheduling posts and distributing content
* Develop communication plans for internal initiatives, events, and campaigns
* Gather data and produce reports on channel performance, readership, and engagement
* Conduct research and benchmarking to support storytelling and message development
* Support employee-owner events through logistics, messaging, and onsite assistance
* Collaborate across content, events, employer brand, and leadership communications work streams
Preferred Qualifications
* Minimum 3.0 GPA
* Junior or Senior pursuing Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field
* Excellent writing, editing, and proofing skills; knowledge of AP Style
* Ability to meet deadlines, multitask, and build strong internal relationships
* Familiarity with digital publishing tools or intranet platforms
* Basic design skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar)
* Ability to analyze data and translate insights into clear summaries
* Organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple projects
Minimum Qualifications
Current enrollment in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Digital Marketing, Multimedia, Public Relations or a related degree program. No experience required. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
Work Environment
This intern position is expected to be in the office on a full-time basis.
