    Position: LCMC Heartland District Connections Coordinator

    Location:

    Nebraska, Kansas, or surrounding areas

    Status:
    Non-hourly by contract with a monthly stipend

    The Heartland District of LCMC is seeking a Connections Coordinator to help foster meaningful relationships among congregations, leaders, and pastors, and to support Gospel-centered ministry throughout the region.

    Purpose:

    • Bear witness to the Gospel, which is:

      • Sinners are put right by God through faith alone in Jesus Christ

    • Resist corruption of the Gospel

    • Serve and support fellow congregations in their ministry of proclaiming this Gospel.

    Qualifications:

    • Residing in Nebraska, Kansas, or near their borders.

    • Subscribe to the LCMC Statement of Faith and Pastoral Admonition, including the characteristic practices of the sacraments in the Lutheran tradition, as well as the Heartland District Statement of Faith (District Constitution, Article
      2)

    • Ministry gifts in the areas of communication, encouragement, and connection.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Serve as a point of contact for the Heartland District.

    • Maintain databases of congregations, pastors, lay leaders, and seminarians.

    • Encourage local churches to actively engage with the District.

    • Edit and distribute the quarterly district newsletter.

    • Manage district communications via email, social media, and website.

    • Encourage congregational financial support of the Heartland District

    • Support congregations in transition by maintaining up-to-date lists of:

      • Congregations in transition

      • Supply preachers and interim pastors

      • Call committee coaches

      • Conflict resolution coaches

    • Collaborate on and attend the annual Heartland District Gathering each July.

    • Maintain a collaborative working relationship with the Heartland District Ministry Coordinator.

    Accountability

    Reports directly to the Ministry Service Coordinator and the Heartland District Council.
