Infusion Registered Nurse

Overview

Metro Infectious Disease Consultants is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for supervision and administration of infusion therapy at the clinic located in Overland Park, KS
.

Schedule: 4 Days/Week (32 hours)

• Place peripheral lines (peripherally inserted catheter) for new patients, teach infusion patients how to self-administer medications, and document in the Medical Record.
• Review and chart daily laboratory results, and communicate results to physicians and/or patients as needed.
• E-prescribe prescriptions at doctor’s order and communicate to pharmacies.
• Receive and return patient and other calls.
• Review EMR charts for next day’s appointments, order lab results, consult reports or notes as necessary, and document all required fields in the EMR to be eligible for meaningful use.
• Respond to telephone calls, meet patients in the office, and schedule patients to come to the office as needed.
• Participate in quality assurance and educational activities as requested.
• Use clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs and establish priorities.
• Monitor the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
• Participate in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications with the facility.
• Support professional practice by observing the following:
  Standards of Nursing Practice; JCAHO, state and local laws; MIDC policy.
• Other duties and tasks as assigned.

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Current KS RN license
• At least two years RN office practice experience, preferably in an infusion-related practice
• Infusion experience
• Chemo experience is preferred, but not required
• Proof of current vaccinations, including boosters commonly required for those working with immunocompromised patients, including measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A & B, influenza, and COVID-19
