Urgent Care Nurse
A fast-paced urgent care clinic in Liberal, Kansas is hiring a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with a package that backs up the offer — sign-on bonus, $65–$80/hour, full benefits including malpractice coverage and CEU assistance, and a genuine welcome mat for new graduates who are ready to hit the ground running. This is not a low-acuity desk job. You'll see urgent, emergent, and non-urgent presentations across all ages, perform laceration repairs, manage orthopedic cases, interpret diagnostic imaging, and build the kind of broad clinical foundation that makes great NPs great.
Physician backup is available via direct telecommunication for every shift. The team has your back from day one — and so does the compensation package.
Key Responsibilities- Perform complete physical exams and assessments for urgent, emergent, and non-urgent patients
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging studies
- Prescribe and administer treatment, medication, therapy, and vaccinations
- Perform procedures including laceration repair and orthopedic care
- Provide specialist referrals as clinically indicated
- Document and close charts within 24–48 hours
- Collaborate with onsite care team and supervising physician via telecommunication
- Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (required)
- DEA registration and BLS certification required
- New graduates welcome — 1 year experience preferred but not required
- Basic understanding of medical coding, billing, OSHA, and HIPAA
- Proficient with PC applications including EMR, email, and Microsoft Office
- $65–$80/hour + sign-on bonus
