Overview
Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled ER RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Overland Park, Kansas.
Required Qualifications- One year of recent experience as an ER RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- Current ACLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- Current PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certification
- TNCC, NIHSS, CPI, NRP, and SANE certifications
- Other relevant certifications or licenses
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse delivers rapid‑response, high‑quality patient care in a fast‑paced emergency department setting.
Responsibilities include:
- Rapidly assess and triage patients upon arrival, prioritizing care based on severity
- Explain emergency procedures and treatments to patients and families
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to protocols
- Prepare equipment and aid physicians during emergency treatments and examinations
- Monitor patient comfort and safety, responding to immediate needs
- Observe and document patient conditions, take and monitor vital signs
- Respond to life‑saving situations per nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the EMR
- Initiate patient education plans as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, specialists, paramedics, social workers, support staff)
- Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
- Critical thinking, service excellence, interpersonal communication
- Ability to read/write and communicate in English, read/comprehend instructions, follow verbal instructions, PC skills
- Be able to remain stationary, move about, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, bend
- Work with various personnel, maintaining a positive attitude
- Perform fine manipulation, push/pull, assist procedures and equipment
- Handle frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work with or without supervision, adjust to irregular schedules, maintain concentration to detail
- Visual acuity to effectively communicate
