Job Overview
Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular OR (CVOR)
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. The RN collaborates with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to coordinate care and ensure safe, high‑quality outcomes for patients undergoing cardiovascular surgical procedures.
Responsibilities- Recognize and address patients’ psychological and physical needs.
- Foster continuity and quality of care with the best interest and well‑being of patients and families in mind.
- Assess a patient’s medical status upon admission.
- Assist in developing individualized treatment plans.
- Comply with evaluation, treatment, and documentation guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively with surgical team members during procedures.
- Operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and maintain accurate documentation.
- BSN from an accredited program.
- Current Colorado RN license or compact license with the ability to obtain a Colorado RN license; required.
- Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire; ACLS/NRP/PALS as appropriate; required.
- At least one year of cardiothoracic nursing experience in an acute care/surgical setting; highly preferred.
- Demonstrated manual dexterity and physical stamina: able to lift, carry, and transfer patients and supplies, operate equipment, and work in crowded and busy rooms.
- Strong communication skills for verbal and written interactions with patients, families, and providers.

Hourly rate: $36.71 – $56.17 (based on experience).
