Charge Nurse RN – Cardiac Care

HCA Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Charge Nurse RN for our Cardiac Care unit within the Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this leadership role, you will coordinate and oversee the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based cardiac nursing care while supporting a culture of compassion, teamwork, and continuous learning.

• Serve as a clinical resource and role model for bedside nurses and support staff, ensuring safe, timely, and effective care for patients with acute and chronic cardiac conditions, including heart failure, post–cardiac surgery, arrhythmias, chest pain, and post–interventional cardiology procedures.
• Work collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, case managers, and the interdisciplinary care team to manage patient flow on the unit, including admissions, transfers, and discharges, balancing acuity and staffing to promote optimal outcomes.
• Assist with bedside assessments, develop and update individualized nursing care plans, and ensure adherence to all clinical protocols, core cardiac quality measures, and regulatory standards.
• Monitor telemetry and other cardiac monitoring systems, respond to changes in patient condition, and support rapid response and code situations as needed.
• Assign and supervise nursing staff, provide real-time coaching and clinical guidance, and foster an environment that promotes professional growth and shared decision‑making.
• Support the orientation and precepting of new team members and students, participate in performance feedback, and help drive unit‑based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
• Collaborate with leadership on staffing, scheduling, and resource utilization, escalating concerns promptly and contributing to solutions that enhance both patient and staff experience.
• Partner closely with patients and families to provide education on cardiac conditions, medications, post‑discharge care, lifestyle modifications, and follow‑up plans, championing effective communication and ensuring that cultural, emotional, and spiritual needs are respected.
