American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a travel Operating Room position at a 343-bed designated trauma center in Overland Park, KS, requiring at least 2 years of OR experience and a KS or compact RN license.
Requirements- Active KS or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR/perioperative RN experience required
- BLS certification required (AHA or ARC accepted); certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Work in the Operating Room (Perioperative unit) of a 343-bed acute care hospital
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Broad surgical case mix including abdominal, cardiovascular, colon/rectal, ENT, gynecological, joint replacement, maternal-fetal, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, orthopedic/sports medicine, pediatrics, plastic and reconstructive, robotics, spine, thoracic, trauma, urological, and vascular procedures
- Charting and documentation via Meditech
- Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM with on-call requirements
- Set schedules with schedule options of 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts based on availability
- Floating is not required
- 13-week contract
- Surgical/procedural experience is preferred but not required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- Hospital-laundered scrubs are provided by the department
- The facility is the only American College of Surgeons Verified Trauma Center in Johnson County, equipped to treat life‑threatening injuries 24/7
- The facility holds numerous accreditations including JCAHO Gold Seal, Primary Stroke Center, Chest Pain accreditation, NAPBC, and Commission on Cancer, among others
- Team environment includes staff ranging from new graduates to nurses with 30+ years of experience
