Job Summary

Shifts for this unit are Mon-Fri 7:30‑4. Our Registered Nurses raise the bar by providing clinical expertise and the highest quality care in the most compassionate way. The Cardiac Rehab RN provides safe and effective care to a diverse group of inpatient and outpatient cardiac patients. As a nurse in the Cardiac Rehab department, you will collaborate with Exercise Physiologists, Physicians and Allied Health Technicians.

What you will do
  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments regarding the health status of the patient, following standards of care and disease‑specific protocols.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
  • Provide direct nursing care and supervise non‑licensed nursing staff within the RN’s scope of practice and in accordance with established policies.
  • Provide education and emotional support appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstance and incorporate patient/family teaching into all aspects of nursing practice.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with a BSN or equivalent.
  • Dysrhythmia recognition, pathophysiology of cardiovascular disease, cardiovascular/pulmonary assessment, basic knowledge of exercise physiology and clinical exercise physiology preferred.
  • Cardiopulmonary assessment; computer skills; educational planning and teaching skills; RN should have a holistic view of patient education; experience and skills with older adults is important.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation.
  • Prefer ACSM certification at the Exercise Specialist level, Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist or ANA Cardiac Rehabilitation certification.
  • A minimum of 1‑year experience in ICU, CCU or other critical care nursing is required; a minimum of 1‑year experience in Cardiac Rehabilitation is preferred.
