Job Summary
The Ottawa University Teaching Assistant – Nursing is responsible for collaborating with an assigned mentor to provide quality face‑to‑face didactic and/or clinical instruction for adult learners. The Teaching Assistant is committed to academic excellence in all areas of teaching and learning, including theory, laboratory, and clinical instruction, and will contribute to Ottawa University’s educational programming and academic integrity to help adult learners succeed in the nursing program.
EssentialFunctions and Required Duties
- Teach a combined total of eight pre‑licensure BSN clinical groups and/or pre‑licensure BSN didactic courses.
- Co‑teach didactic courses with full‑time nursing faculty.
- Teach clinical courses independently.
- Receive assignment of didactic and clinical courses from the Nursing Leadership Team based on department needs.
- Ensure that a minimum of two of the required courses are clinical groups.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Minimum of two years of clinical experience.
- Enrollment in the Ottawa University MSN‑Nurse Educator Program.
