American Traveler is hiring a Mother/Baby RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring 1+ year of specialty experience, BLS, and NRP certification.

• Hospital-based Post Partum/GYN unit with 26 beds
• Cares for postpartum women and newborns, including LDRP, well baby nursery, recoveries, and attending births
• Typical patient ratio of 6-8 patients
• Unit staffed by RNs with no dedicated unit secretary and rare PCT support during short staffing
• Uses vitals machines, glucometers, TCB devices, and postpartum supplies
• Documentation via CPN and Meditech systems
• Circumcisions performed on the unit
• Shift schedule 7A-7P with varied scheduling including 2 hard-to-staff shifts (Mon/Fri)
• One full weekend required every 3rd week plus one additional weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within Women's Services unless cross-trained to Pediatrics and/or NICU

• Active KS or compact RN license required
• BLS and NRP (Advanced 9th Edition) certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Mother/Baby or Post Partum specialty experience required
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school required, BSN preferred
• Ability to assess and manage risk factors including sepsis, VTE/DVT, suicide, malignant hyperthermia, and pressure injury
• Skilled in discharge education, pain management, and prioritizing care based on patient acuity
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months

• Provide comprehensive care to postpartum women and newborns, including assessments, discharge education, and pain management
• Utilize AIDET and BSSR communication frameworks with patients
• Required dress code includes black scrub pants with Caribbean blue scrub top, vest, or jacket
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates will not be considered
