Travel RN – Progressive Care Unit / Telemetry (Nights)

Overland Park, KS | Acute Care

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 48 Hours Guaranteed per Week

• Provide direct nursing care to patients with moderate physiologic instability on a Progressive Care / Telemetry unit, including those with COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CHF, and trach management
• Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and respiratory monitoring and management every 2–4 hours
• Administer and manage oxygen therapy modalities including nasal cannula, BiPAP/CPAP, and Air Vo low flow
• Monitor vital signs every 4 hours, blood glucose every 4 hours, and neurological status at any required frequency including NIHSS assessments
• Operate unit equipment including Alaris pumps, Kangaroo pumps, Pyxis, and document care using Meditech
• Participate in self-scheduling including 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule and adhere to floating policy as applicable to travel staff

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid for practice in Kansas
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of PCU, Telemetry, or Step-Down nursing experience

• Experience with Meditech documentation system
• Familiarity with Alaris and Kangaroo pump operation
• Experience caring for cardiac and pulmonary patient populations in a step-down or intermediate care setting
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management

• Work on a well-supported 18-bed unit with PCT and unit secretary support, self-scheduling flexibility, and no on-call requirements
• Gain experience in a specialized cardiac and pulmonary step-down environment with a collaborative, patient-focused team
